Tiling
Tile roofs have a wide range of selection to chose from in clay and concrete which come in all different colours, designs and sizes to suit your requirements. Tile roofs have a relatively long lifespan. They do require maintenance which includes replacing broken tiles, repairing leadwork and repointing of ridges. In some cases as with all roof systems, there will come a point when either through age or deterioration, your roof will need to be replaced. If a reroof is required and we will strive to save you from this, there are a wide range of tiles to choose from. At Aspect roofing our tiled reroofs are installed using the most up to date roofing materials and dry systems so that your roof is completely maintenance free.
Slating
Slate roofs will last the longest out of any roof without the need for replacement. In some cases slate roofs have been in situ for over 100 years before any repair problems begin to occur. Slates will begin to drop out of position due to nail corrosion allowing rainwater to penetrate through the nail hole and into the building. But with a bit of roofing maintenance this can be easily fixed. At Aspect roofing we will always try to save you the cost of a full reroof and give you an honest opinion of your roof with pictures, to show you what we are looking at and then let you come to a decision if you want a new roof or if you want it repairing. There are a couple of different types of slate and all have different prices but together we will decide which slate is best to suit your requirements on your roof.
Flat Roofing
Felt roofing is a common system that we use for some of are flat roofing work. At Aspect roofing we use SBS approved torch on felt, which includes a 2/3 layer system to insure your roof is completed to the highest standard. It’s consists of a underlay felt and a mineral felt. We will always supply you with the most recent and approved felt on the market. GRP Roofing
GRP flat roof, or fiberglass roof as it’s also known, is one of the most popular flat roofing solutions in the UK. GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Polyester, a composite material formed by strengthening plastic with fine fibres made of glass.
This single ply laminate has been used as a reliable means of covering and waterproofing roofs for over 60 years, although it's popularity has soared in recent years thanks to new systems such as Cromar PROGRP.
The installation of a GRP roofing system is highly regarded for its simplicity and safety, while the finished product it produces is recognised as having a lifespan that easily betters that of a felt roof.
GRP flat roofs begin with a layer of catalysed resin being applied to good quality, completely dry roof decking, ideally OSB3 wood. A layer of fibreglass mating is then laid on top followed by another layer of catalysed resin to complete the system. Once cured, a fire retardant top coat resin is then applied to completely weatherproof the roof and give it a more attractive finish.
